The Immortality of Flowers
Flower-giving has always been part of our history that we really don't know where the idea started and how it came to be. It is a simple gesture and in the present times there are flowers to suit every occasion and you can never make a mistake when sending flowers, whereas that new coffee mug may not always go over very well.
Everywhere you look at Christmastime, there are cones and traditional poinsettias, making them two of the most popular flower varieties for the season. About all homes have red poinsettias in them. Also there is the famous flower fairies oval plates and the fresh christmas wreaths, which can be dressed up to suit your own preference. There are no known standards for designing your Christmas wreath, so this would be an easy task to fulfill. Not to be left out is the Christmas Holly, which is a dear to see at this festive season.
For Valentines there is always the impeccable Red Rose, which women particularly love to receive; Carnations are also a favorite for this occasion. During Easter time, besides brightly colored Easter eggs, chocolates, and cutesy bunnies, flowers and gifts are also very common.
And not just that. In the romantic era, flowers have already been used to symbolize messages of affection and love. For a hidden love, acacias are normally given; violets represent dedication; for sorrow, there's hyacynths, for sincerity gladioli, faith and friendship irises, for gentle beauty the tropical hibiscus, and for success poppies, among several.
You don't actually need an occasion to give and receive flowers because they are always a joy. When picking flowers, choose according to your preferences, their flower arrangements, their fragrances, colors, varieties, or whatever you think would suit you best. If you want them to last longer than usual, get real potted flower-bearing plants. Indeed, flowers are appropriate for all occasions; on birthdays, on Mother's Day, today, tomorrow, or whatever. Nobody can resist the heartwarming effect of flowers. Not even the most stern of people.
